I haven’t posted anything on the long side on the blog in a good while, though I’ve wanted to (and begun here and there to draft things, abortively). This post is occasioned by James H Sweet, American Historical Assn. president and recently careless stumbler into public commendations from nasty figures like Richard Spencer.
